Jordan and Emily ditched their original plan for a big wedding in Dallas and opted for a mountain elopement in their new home, the PNW! They decided that they wanted the day to be simple and intimate, with the focus on them.
Since they didn’t know the area well yet, they gave me full reign when it came to the location. I knew they wanted something unique and adventurous so I suggested Alpine Lakes High Camp! I had been waiting for the perfect couple to take me up on it!
Alpine Lakes High Camp consists of 9 off-grid, fully equipped backcountry cabins. The camp is located at 5,000 feet, near Stevens Pass. Once up there, you have unparalleled access to the lakes, ridges and peaks in the famous Alpine Lakes Wilderness area! You can’t drive up to the camp yourself so getting there, in Alpine Lakes High Camp’s off-road vehicles, is half the fun!
Emily and Jordan invited a small group of friends and family to celebrate with them and we ended up having the whole camp to ourselves! The ceremony took place at Wedding Point–There were a few non-hikers and a baby in the mix so we chose one of Alpine Lakes High Camp’s predetermined wedding spots! (Although, there are an unlimited number of spot to get married up there.) It was a beautiful day with blue skies and peaks in every direction! Jordan and Emily waited to see each other until ceremony and they were both in tears before Jordan even made it down the aisle, which made it hard for everyone else to keep it together!
After the ceremony, Jordan and Emily shared a mountain-top first dance and a little picnic with guests before everyone headed back to camp for s’mores and a BBQ!
This day was a blast! Alpine Lakes High Camp serves up the adventure but still gives you the best of both worlds. We absolutely loved working with Jordan & Emily and the amazing ALHC staff!
