With insane views of both Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan, this elopement location is one of the most epic in all of Washington State!
Samantha & Greg ditched the big wedding in the middle of planning but didn’t necessarily want to ditch all the traditions. They wanted a little bit of everything–an intimate, outdoors adventure (that paid homage to their engagement in Banff), with a few guests & wedding day traditions sprinkled in!
From the get-go Samantha & Greg put their full faith in me to pull off their dream day! They let me choose the location and put together one of the most crazy-talented vendor teams around!
It was important to them to take advantage of the time with their small group of friends and family. Samantha also wanted to make sure she spent as much of the day as possible in her wedding dress, duh! To capitalize on these wishes, we planned an early first look and then everyone ate a homemade meal together, on the deck of their A-frame cabin in the woods. The Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom cooked together as we styled a table with Fall foliage and crystal, just like Samantha’s Grandma had given to her! (She was too afraid to travel with the real pieces–Balancing Balloons to the rescue!)
After lunch, we headed up the mountain. We romped around to find the perfect ceremony spot, complete with 360 degree views of the North Cascade’s finest peaks! I had the incredible honor of officiating and as per usual, tried not to choke up as everyone around me did!
The day ended with a sunset that lit up Mount Skuksan and was topped off with cake back at the cabin.
Their guests totally made us feel like family. I still keep an Instagram message thread going with the MOB and have been trying to convince her to move to the PNW. Fingers crossed! I can’t help but smile when I look back on this day!
