Brittany & Eric reached out about a month before their Olympic National Park elopement–Like so many this year, their original wedding plans were disrupted by Covid-19. They traded the tropical rain forest of Costa Rica for the temperate rain forest of Washington, which was what they really wanted from the get-go!
Brittany wasn’t that outdoorsy until she met Eric, now it’s their thing! He’s Norwegian and outdoor life is an important part of his culture so they wanted to make sure they were surrounded by nature.
Brittany and Eric told me they wanted a VERY PNW-inspired day–I believe “lumberjack” was a word they used to describe their aesthetic! We went with a moody color palette and incorporated camp lanterns, antlers and plaid napkins (for those lumberjack vibes). We strung twinkling lights over a large, wood table and had a fire going throughout their picnic.
We held the ceremony right outside of their cabin, overlooking the Washington Coast. Their only guest was their adorable pug, Penelope (and family/friends on Zoom). At the end of the ceremony, Brittany reached out and shook Eric’s hand, instead of kissing him, just as he nervously did on their first date–Something she still gives him a hard time about!
After the ceremony, Brittany and Eric took photos along Kalaloch Beach, came back to the cabin for charcuterie, champagne & cake and then ended their day in the Hoh Rain Forest!
Even though it wasn’t what they originally envisioned, the day ended up being pure magic!
