Classic Seattle Wedding | Axis Pioneer Square

Stacey & Marc’s Seattle inspired wedding took place at one of my favorite and one of the most iconic downtown venues! Axis Pioneer Square, located in the Globe Building, once housed The Elliott Bay Book Company. This gorgeous space still boasts its original dark wood floors and enormous red brick arches.

Stacey and Marc incorporated a handful of hometown touches into their big day. A map of Seattle lined their invitations, Marc wore a Seattle map bowtie and cufflinks and they had guests sign a poster of all the Seattle neighborhoods. They took photos all over downtown, including in front of Pike’s Place Market and on an empty Emerald City Trolley. The decor was in a neutral pallet and incorporated natural elements–wood, moss, succulents and other greens. Their cake was even made to look like birch tree bark!

It was important to Stacey and Marc that they stayed true to who they were as a couple and that all of their guests had an absolute blast. They went all out!! Not only did they hire a killer vendor team but it was the biggest vendor team I have worked with–20+, onsite! Their wedding was full of so many unique details and fun programming. Their wedding Ceremony programs were folded like origami fortune tellers (The same kind that predicted who you were going to marry, back in 3rd grade!) and their guests threw paper airplanes during the Recessional. During Cocktail hour, Stacey and Marc had a roaming magician and skeeball. Late night, they served up Seattle Dogs, pie & espresso. Guests were left with cute little hangover kits as the two of them ran through sparklers and escaped in a Seattle pedicab!

One of my favorite things that Stacey and Marc did, was a day-after photoshoot! Their photographer took them up to Rattlesnake Lake for an adventure session, where they were able to capture some of the area’s natural beauty. And, what a great excuse to re-wear that expensive wedding dress!! (So Seattle of them!)
