Sunrise Mountain Elopement + Backyard Reception | Washington State

Not only were Sara & Craig trying to plan a wedding mid-pandemic but they were also in the middle of buying a house and having a baby. On top of that, they wanted not 1 but 3 events–A sunrise mountain elopement-style ceremony, a movie night and a backyard reception! Sara and Craig are truly proof that you can have your cake and eat it too!

Sara & Craig made it official in the mountains! They woke up bright and early for a sunrise first look at Artist Point, where family met up with us a couple hours later for ceremony. (We let them sleep in a little!) It was a gorgeous morning! We had Mount Shuksan behind us, Mount Baker in front of us and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky! Before setting off to hike, we all went back to the family’s cabin to fuel up on breakfast burritos and doughnuts. Sara and Craig did a first dance with baby Walter and relaxed with family before heading back up into the mountains for sunset photos!

Since Sara & Craig had already gotten married, instead of a rehearsal dinner, they wanted to host a movie night! I recommended The Emerald Forest, an amazing outdoor theater in a massive tree house! They drank beer and wine, made s’mores and watched a favorite of Craig’s, Stand by Me, in the tree-tops.

The reception took place in a good friend’s backyard and was a total blast! The served pizza for dinner, Seattle dogs for a late night snack and they hired dueling pianos instead of a traditional band! If couples want the best of both worlds, this is the way to do it–They got their intimate ceremony AND their friends and family got the chance to celebrate them!

Sara and Craig were a absolute dream to work with. With so much going on in their lives, they put their complete trust in us to make their vision come to life! As everyone knows, 2021 wasn’t the easiest year but Sara was always the first to ask how I was doing, say “No rush!” or tell me to enjoy a vacation. She really made our biggest week of the year feel like the easiest!!
